Picking The Right Flight Instructor | Choosing a CFI

Hey guys! In this video we try to go over what you should be looking for in a flight instructor. There are many of them out there, all teaching for different reasons. Not all CFI's are created equal.

Just like we say in the video, you're not looking for the PERFECT instructor. You're looking for someone you can get along with and can effectively communicate. You don't have to be the best of friends.

Best Way To Make It Through Pilot Training | Taking Charge

There are a lot of ways that you can make it through pilot training, but using these tips will help you a lot. Far to many students rely too heavily on their instructors to tell them where there at, what is next, and how their doing. By taking charge and working through your pilot training, you'll have the answers for yourself! Working together is the best way to make it to the check ride with any instructor.

Now, this video isn't on how to choose a flight instructor, but we'll make that one soon, it's more on how to make the best use of the one you have.

Touch and Go’s at BUSY Deer Valley Airport | ATC Audio | Full Length Flight

I recently had my solo anniversary. So to commemorate it, I decided to do 3 touch and go's, just like I did on my solo. AAAAnd, I thought I'd bring you guys along for raw uncut flight video.

This is going to be a full length flight from start up to shut down, which is going to seem boring for some of you. So, I move between different camera angles to try and keep things interesting. So, I guess it's not really uncut… But everything is in real time.

The reason I'm making this is because I wanted you guys to see what it's like to fly where I fly and let you get a sense of what a full length flight is actually like. Just know that when you're in the plane, it's a lot more exciting.

Now this video isn't to train you in any way, but You can still learn a lot by watching, or at least listening. Things may seem a little busy in the video, but it was actually quite calm from a normal day. BUT, there are still lots of planes around.

My Trip To Dallas | A Quick Aviation Vlog

I had a remarkable trip to Dallas! It all started a few months back when Bryan Turner from Just Plane Silly asked if I was interested in being on YouTube series In The Hanger from the channel Taking Off. I thought it could be a lot of fun so I said sure! Not only was it fun, I also got to meet a lot of great people in aviation including Josh Flowers from Aviation101, who I've always wanted to meet. I'm not sure when my segment will air, but I'll keep ya'll (because I was in Texas) posted.

The Day after the shoot, a few of us aviation youtubers got together and went on flight to grab some breakfast. Martin Pauly took us from Denton Airport to Hicks Airfield in his beautiful Bonanza A36, and he even let me fly the plane. It was a ton of fun and each one of us made a video about the trip so make sure to check the links below to watch them!

Become a Pilot | Step 1 – The Discovery Flight

In this video Tiffany walks us through the first steps of becoming a pilot. We send our 13 year old son on a discovery flight to show you guys what to expect. Then, we go over what comes next.

BIG thanks to Jim Pitman for being Ty's instructor! He's literally one of the best instructors I've ever met. If you're in the Phoenix area, check him out at this link: https://bit.ly/2TvdPdb

Also, we know we misspelled a word in one of the graphics. Long story to that one, but a quick mistake. We'll be a bit more diligent in the next one.

Flying to Sedona Arizona | Bucket List Airport | Beautiful City and Mountains

Today we’re stopping in Sedona Arizona, one of our favorite places to visit. We spend a lot of time there hiking, exploring, shopping, and FLYING! Come along a discover its beauty, and why its on almost every pilots bucket list.

This is take 2 of our Sedona, AZ trip. The original video had some audio problems, so we reworked the whole thing. ENJOY!

Should You Rent Or Buy An Airplane?

Ever wonder which one is actually cheaper? We'll, we give you all the tools you need to figure it out. Owning a plane may be cheaper then you think!

AAAAND... a little apology to those of you who are watching on a smart phone. I increased the size of the spreadsheet to accommodate smaller screens, but I just didn't do it enough. So much work and effort went into getting this together that in the end, I would rather release this video for you guys then record the spreadsheet sections and edit everything again. I literally didn't know this would be a problem until I reviewed the uploaded version on my phone.

CALCULATOR UPDATED - I updated the calculator to reflect some total costs and a Savings or Loss total. I also allowed you plug in more hours to the cost per hour tool. You can download that spreadsheet from here: https://bit.ly/2D6logY

How the Private Pilot Checkride Works | Airmen Certification Standards

Today we’re going over How the Private Pilot Checkride Works. Following the standards of the ACS, things should go as described in the video, but every DPE is different and can present the checkride, or practical test as it’s actually called, in their own unique way.

The Airmen Certification standards were announced on June 15, 2016. Transitioning from the PTS to the ACS began at this time. On June 12, 2017 a revised version of the ACS was released, and official standards for the commercial pilot certificate were incorporated. This is why we chose June 12 as the start date for our information, because the ACS had a complete set of standards. Possibly a technicality on the start date, but I just wanted to set the record straight.

We recognize that the audio in this is a bit louder then we wanted. Sorry about that, we'll fix it in the next one.
